Security Statement

Security

Intracoastal Bank works with cutting-edge technology partners to ensure that the most secure environment is made possible for our valued customers. We offer you worry-free Internet banking. You can be completely confident of the following security measures:

Secure Communications

Our system ensures that data-exchanged between your PC and our computer networks are encrypted with 128-bit encryption – the strongest encryption available. Encryption is accomplished through Secure Sockets Layers (SSL), which utilizes mathematical formulas to 'encrypt' or hide information from prying eyes on the Internet. Additionally, if SSL detects that data was added or deleted after you sent it to the bank, the connection will be severed in order to guard against any tampering. The most popular browsers have the SSL security feature included.

Secure Environment

Our computer system does not connect directly to the Internet. It is isolated from the network via a 'firewall.' A firewall is a combination of software and hardware products that designate parameters, and control and limit the access that outside computers have to the banks' internal networks and databases. You can feel secure knowing that our firewall protects your personal information from unauthorized access.

Secure Login

User IDs and passwords are isolated from the Internet by being stored on Intracoastal Bank's computer. This way, the passwords and IDs can never be accessed or downloaded by anyone on the Internet. Additionally, user passwords can vary from eight to seventeen characters, including one numeric, one uppercase and one lowercase character required, which means the chance of randomly guessing a password is less than one in one billion! The system also checks for invalid logins and automatically disallows a user after five invalid login attempts. This prohibits the 'hacker' from gaining access to our system, thus protecting your accounts.

Your Password

Your customer ID/username and your password (collectively “the Password”) are for your use and protection. You agree to: (a) not disclose the Password, or other means to access the Service or your Accounts, or otherwise make it available to anyone else; (b) use the Password as instructed in the Guides; (c) immediately notify us of any loss or theft of the Password; and (d) be liable for the Password and for its authorized use and for its unauthorized use as described in this Agreement. Unless you notify us as provided in this Agreement, you acknowledge that we are entitled to rely on the use of your Password as your authorization for any Transaction through the Service. You are responsible for all Transactions you initiate or authorize using the Service. If you permit any other person to use the Service or your Password or other means to access your account, you will have authorized that person to access your Accounts and you are solely responsible for any Transactions that person initiates or authorizes from your Accounts.

Out-Of-Band Authentication

Once you have successfully enrolled into Online Banking, you will be prompted to go through step up authentication. This process is designed to provide enhanced security and help protect against fraudulent online activity by establishing user identity when accessing Online Banking. The first time you log into Online Banking you will be required to authenticate your identity. The step up authentication solution is designed to reduce the risk of fraud by confirming user identity when accessing Online Banking by device profiling and out-of-band authentication. Specifically, this solution includes the following components:

During the online banking login, extensive details about your device (e.g. computer, tablet, etc.) and network are gathered and evaluated for comparison with the your typical behavior looking for any indication that fraud may be involved in the login. The result of this evaluation is used to determine if additional security steps are needed in the login process.

Based on the results of the Device Profiling and the login authentication, Online Banking may require an additional Out-Of-Band authentication step. Out-Of-Band Authentication allows you to confirm your identity through the use of a one-time security code you would receive through either an automated telephone message or a text message. You must provide to us a current mobile telephone number to allow us to send you either an automated telephone call or text message to your mobile telephone. Text and Data messaging rates may apply. Check with your carrier for details on specific fees and charges.

Upon subsequent logins to Online Banking, you may be required to authenticate your identity based on the results of the Device Profiling process. It is your responsibility to ensure that the mobile telephone number in our records remains current to enable us to contact you by text or telephone call to your mobile telephone. We will transmit a text message or automated telephone call to the most current mobile telephone number in our records.

You may sign-up to receive alerts related to particular customer identifiers that you maintain with Intracoastal Bank. You may enrolled for Security, Balance, Transaction, Transfers, ATM/Debit Card, Certificates, and other Alerts. When agreeing to receive Alerts, you consent to delivery of such Alerts to the email addresses and/or phone number that you identify. You are responsible for notifying us of any changes to your email address or phone number to which Alerts are sent. Security Alerts are sent automatically after the triggering event occurs and Account Alerts are sent daily, based on account activity occurring on the prior Business Day. You understand and agree that Alerts will not be sent on a “real time” basis, and that all Alerts are sent after the triggering event has taken place and been completed. Depending upon the Alert, information pertaining to checking account balances, checks written, transaction amounts, or insufficient funds may be included.
